To read your automatic blood pressure (BP) monitor, first ensure the cuff is properly placed on your arm and start the device according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once the measurement is complete, the monitor will display two numbers: the systolic pressure (the higher number) and the diastolic pressure (the lower number). Additionally, many monitors also display your pulse rate.
