To perform a hearing screening with the Micro Audiometrics Earscan 3 Automatic Threshold Audiometer (ES3), place the headphones on the patient and instruct them to respond when they hear a tone. Use the ES3 to present tones at standard frequencies (1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz) and a screening level (typically 20 or 25 dB HL) to each ear separately. Record responses to determine if hearing is within normal limits.
